On September 17, the Bucks County Commissioners joined communities across the nation in recognizing Constitution Day, marking the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia in 1787. This year’s ceremony was especially meaningful as Commissioner Robert J. Harvie, Jr., Chair of the Bucks250PA Commission, was presented with the DAR America250 Commendation Medal by the Bucks County Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).
The award honors Commissioner Harvie’s leadership in guiding the Bucks250PA Commission, a group of community leaders dedicated to ensuring Bucks County’s Revolutionary heritage is celebrated as we approach America’s 250th anniversary. His vision is helping connect residents, schools, and organizations to the enduring legacy of our Constitution and the sacrifices of the Patriots who made independence possible.
Constitution Week is not only a time to honor the past, but also an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the founding documents that continue to shape our lives today. To support that mission, the National Constitution Center, in partnership with America250PA, has launched new educational tools that are free and accessible to learners of all ages:
